The Quidditch match continues.... that's my update. Wish I had worn something warmer.
I do hope that Sirius does make it before the end. I know both Kat and Anders would wish him to see this first match and to cheer them on.
Oh, I have chosen a new usericon for this journal of a muggle actress whom everyone at school who knows about such things says could be my twin sister.

Am quite upset about the Prefects' meeting. It seems everyone I love like a brother is taken away from me.
I miss Marcus. Now Daddy is sending him to Japan on a diplomatic mission and who knows when he'll be back. I wanted him to be with us for Christmas. I know Anders would like to see him.
Now Marvo... poor Kat as well. I mean why?
Anders and I also need to find some time soon.

8:57 pm - Wonderful Afternoon
|
I have spent the most wonderful afternoon in the library with Anders. Working on his schedule (which I am very pleased with), then revision for him while I did some homework. I read out bits of my DADA essay to him. It would be cheating to have too much help from him on that score though but he seemed to think I was on the right track.
We even talked about what was bothering him. It was Uiliam Sparkestone and the kiss that he gave me on my forehead outside of Ancient Runes.
Anders saw and it brought up his insecurity about my position and everything. I guess it is only natural though I don't think he realises quite yet how much I love him.
I spoke as honestly as I could from the heart. All I have is an accident of birth and the challenge for me is to prove that I am more than my lineage. That I am truly worthy in my own right. I still can hardly believe that I have won his heart.
Anyway, the time has passed far too quickly. We shall be off to supper. I wonder how the new students are settling in?

More than once have I remarked that there are elements of Juliet in me usually when justifying that my age is no factor in knowing whether I truly can love. I remain ever thankful that Anders and I are no longer star-crossed lovers. We could have so easily been.
I discovered a beautiful painting by the Victorian artist J. W. Waterhouse yesterday. I thought it looked so like me when I am in a pensive mood that I had to note it.

1:13 pm - Righteous Anger
|
I consider myself quite a rational person. I was born under the sign of the Scales - a Libra. I prefer peace and balance and am a very fair person. However ...
What happened just now... what Uiliam Sparkstone did to Mahou in front of the whole school fills me with anger. When he was stopped by Nathaniel from dragging her from the Great Hall, Uiliam declared they would talk later in a very menacing tone and then slapped her very hard and left.
She was so upset afterwards, so humiliated and feeling that he had some sort of right to do that.
If he tries anything like that again in front of me....

Lúthien Tinúviel has always been very special to me and this picture of her very much served as my 'template' for Nimue Hawkwood when I wrote my first profile for her back in the autumn of 2000.

10:26 am - Pop Culture and HP-Hogwarts (OC)
|
Hailey and Ari's joint post got me thinking about how much I enjoy the way in which popular culture surfaces from time to time in hp-hogwarts.
Like the old crowd who dealt with the troubles last autumn calling themselves the 'Scooby Gang', Sarah's love of muggle TV show 'Buffy', Dylan's comics, Terry Pratchett's writings being mentioned. (though in our world he is *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*).
We leave a great deal of the real world at the doorstep but as with JKRs original writings there is that 'awareness' and gentle satire making the journey with us.
Of course, our characters have no idea that they are also part of popular culture or rather a 'response to popular culture' on the part of their RPers.
I love it though - I love the collective nature of the way in which the plots develop.

10:16 pm - One of those Days (hp-hogwarts)
|
Well Wednesday is proving one of those strange days. Undercurrents all over the place.
Mahou and I are friends again which is a very good thing. I was pretty upset after the forest incident because there is really nothing I could say about it which would make sense to her. In a very big part of myself I was surprised even though something at my core more than coped with it. It has always been like that in times of stress. Like running into the Forest to look for Kat last December.
Niamh is interesting. I do hope I am not being totally tactless over her blindness.
Anders is around thanks to Dumbledore suggesting he take some time off. He is pushing himself way too hard though. So this afternoon while other folk are Dueling I am going to help him draw up some time schedules. It makes me happy that he is thinking about having a good job in a few years time as well so will not distract him! Maybe at Christmas after his exam but not before.
I will start making plans for my own career in a couple of years time.
Oh, I met Mahou's friend, Uiliam. He's an elf from Ireland. I think he was coming on to me a bit but then it's so hard to tell with an elf because they tend to ooze charm.

9:37 am - A New Diary
|
This is very nice indeed.
My old diary was nice but it never felt quite the same after Sirius took it to use as evidence at Anders' second trial. So, after talking to Anders, I have come here.
I am well aware that Anders also exists in other HP-universes than the one we met in. My best friend Kat Black has lent me her Terry Pratchett books to read and they explain the idea of the multi-verse in a way that magical folk as well as non-magical people can understand.
I am pretty sure I only exist in this particular one - though I do play forward into adulthood sometimes.
